Tottenham and Chelsea chase Danish left-back

Patrick Dorgu is a target for both Tottenham and Chelsea as the Premier League duo begin planning their transfer summer window activity. 19-year-old Copenhagen-born Dorgu is considered one of his country’s brightest young talents and is currently playing for Italian club Lecce, the club that he joined in 2023 from former side Nordsjaelland.

The left-back has played for Denmark’s national side at every level except for the full international squad, but the rapid ascent of Dorgu in Italy could change that shortly. The speedy defender is of Nigerian descent and has previously been rumoured to have considered a call up for Nigeria. 

Valued at around 20 million euros, Lecce will not part company with the defender quickly or easily; and it is understood that the Blues are progressing with a transfer deal ahead of Spurs, confident that they can buy yet another of one of Europe’s best young stars.

Dorgu can also operate as a left-sided midfielder, and those that know the player well believe that he will eventually end up as a left winger. 

Dorgu has bagged 2 goals in 27 games in the league for Lecce.
