Tottenham on alert after Brentford’s move for wonderkid Antonio Nusa stalls despite Bruges agreeing £26m deal for the 18-year-old winger

  •  Brentford have suffered a setback in bid to sign winger Antonio Nusa
  •  The 18-year-old is the second youngest scorer in Champions League history
  •  He has four goals and three assists in 28 appearances for Bruges this season

Tottenham have been alerted after Brentford‘s negotiations with Bruges for winger Antonio Nusa hit a hitch on Monday night.

A deal had been agreed for £25.6million with the 18-year-old expected to return to Belgium for the season.

Despite interest from Premier League rivals including Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford emerged as his preferred choice.

But the transfer has not yet been finalised and appears to have suffered a setback, potentially opening the door to rivals before the transfer window closes.

Nusa is regarded as one of the best young talents outside Europe’s top five leagues.

Tottenham were very close to landing Nusa, but the attacker believes his pathway into first-team football will be less restrictive at Brentford.

Nusa has four goals and three assists in 28 games for Club Brugge this season.

He has made a total of 64 appearances for the club since joining from Norwegian side Stabaek in the summer of 2021.
