Tottenham rival Arsenal for Premier League star with €40m bid ready

Tottenham are ready to make a €40 million bid for Antoine Semenyo, according to a report.

The Bournemouth attacker has been one of the breakout stars of the season. Semenyo has notched nine goals and five assists while playing all across the frontline for Andoni Iraola.

The Ghana international has been one of the key cogs in the Spaniard’s hugely exciting team and he is one of the big reasons why they are doing so exceptionally well this term.

Like many Bournemouth stars, the 25-year-old has attracted the attention of bigger Premier League clubs. It is shaping up to be a potentially very painful summer window for the Cherries with all of their key players courted by big hitters.

Spurs ready Semenyo bid

Semenyo has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Man Utd, but it is the Gunners’ North London rivals Tottenham who are ready to get serious about their interest.

At least that is according to CaughtOffside, which claims that Spurs are preparing to ‘test the waters’ with a €40 million bid for the versatile attacker.

It is asserted that Tottenham are the side showing the ‘strongest interest’ as Ange Postecoglou is keen to revamp his frontline. Oft-injured Richarlison is thought to be on the chopping block, while Timo Werner’s loan will not be made permanent.

Semenyo, for his part, is keen to take the next step in his career, although there is a suggestion that he may be inclined to ‘aim higher’ than Spurs.

The exciting winger is aware of the interest he has from other clubs and could potentially hold out for a more high-profile opportunity. Arsenal are likely to attempt to sign a winger in the summer, so they could present an enticing option for the 25-year-old.
