- Brentford have secured the signing of Norway international Antonio Nusa
- The 18-year-old is the second youngest scorer in Champions League history
- Nusa has three goals and three assists in 26 appearances for Club Bruges
Tottenham have been dealt a severe blow in the transfer window after Brentford beat them to the signing of Norwegian youngster Antonio Nusa.
Nusa’s three goals and three assists in 26 appearances across all competitions for Club Bruges, combined with his tender age, caught the interest of some big Premier League clubs.
Ange Postecoglou‘s side have been tracking the 18-year-old for some time, and he was even the subject of interest from Chelsea last year.
Despite few transfers being completed across the league during the January window, Spurs have already been active and were looking to secure Nusa’s services.
But it is Thomas Frank‘s Brentford that have beaten the North London outfit to the signing of the exciting winger.
Antonio Nusa has been in impressive form for Club Brugge despite his tender age of just 18
The Norway international has been subject to great interest from Spurs, Brentford and Chelsea
Ange Postecoglou could not convince Nusa to join Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin in heading to North London
His rise in the Jupiler Pro League has also seen the winger called upon by Norway manager Stale Solbakken, with Nusa making his international debut in a friendly against Jordan, scoring and assisting in the 6-0 demolition job.
Scoring against Porto in the Champions League, Nusa became the second-youngest goalscorer in the history of the competition at just 17 years and 149 days last season.
The youngster will stay in Belgium for the remainder of the season before joining up with the Bees in the summer.
Thomas Frank will be delighted he has secured the services of such an exciting young talent
He joins the list of a busy window for Brentford, who have already secured Sergio Reguilon on loan from Spurs, goalkeeper Hakon Rafn Valdimarsson from Elfsborg and midfielder Yunus Emre Konak from Sivasspor.
Despite the blow it hasn’t been all doom and gloom for Tottenham, who have already signed former Chelsea and RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner on loan.
They have also bolstered their defence, bringing in Romanian centre back Radu Dragusin for £21.5million plus £4.5m in potential add-ons.
