Now that the domestic season is over for all major European leagues, clubs can now focus on their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign, with a natural focus on recruitment.
The big spenders will be out in force again, with Real Madrid looking to back new boss Xabi Alonso, Chelsea keen to improve again after securing Champions League qualification, and Manchester United desperate to reclaim some kind of success after a disastrous season that saw them finish just three places above the relegation zone in the Premier League.
The Red Devils are on the cusp of announcing the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, while Madrid will complete a deal for Dean Huijsen of Bournemouth soon.
With the Club World Cup on the horizon, we will likely see big deals completed earlier than usual from Europe’s elite.
That competition begins on Saturday, 14th June.
Some questions that will hang over the transfer window this season:
- How can Man City replace Kevin De Bruyne?
- Will Rodrygo leave Real Madrid?
- How much can Barcelona spend?
- Will top players want to join Man Utd?
- Will Arsenal sign a world-class striker?

PSG front-runners for wonderkid Mastantuono
Paris Saint-Germain are currently favourites to sign Argentine wonderkid Franco Mastantuono.
The 17-year-old is one of the most gifted young players in South America and currently holds the highest-ever release clause put in place by River Plate, sat at €45 million.
Chelsea, Man Utd, Barcelona and Real Madrid have all been mentioned as potential destinations for Mastantuono, but journalist German García Grova says PSG are going ‘all-in’ on the player.
Some thoughts on Cunha-Man Utd…
Liam Delap chooses next club
Liam Delap has snubbed a number of other Premier League clubs to sign for Chelsea.
The striker is a wanted man this summer and will definitely leave Ipswich for around £30 million due to a relegation clause in his contract.
Man Utd, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Everton and Nottingham Forest have all been credited with an interest recently, but David Ornstein reports that Chelsea have won the race for his signature.
Chelsea won’t sign Sancho despite Conference heroics
Chelsea will not sign Jadon Sancho on a permanent basis from Man Utd.
The former Dortmund winger is on loan at the Blues, who have an obligation to buy him for around £25 million – an obligation they can get out of by paying a £5m penalty.
Some fans believed that Sancho may have saved his Chelsea career by coming off the bench to score in the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday, but he’s heading back to Man Utd. (Jacob Steinberg)
Luis Diaz a top choice to replace Ronaldo
With Cristiano Ronaldo set to leave Al-Nassr this summer, the Saudi side need to decide on a new big-money marquee signing to replace CR7.
According to Ben Jacobs, they want to sign Liverpool star Luis Diaz, who is also wanted by Barcelona.
The Colombian has an Expected Transfer Value of €71 million.
Bayern battle Prem sides for Guehi
Bayern Munich hope to beat a number of Premier League sides to the signing of Marc Guehi.
The Crystal Palace defender is likely to leave Selhurst Park this summer and has been linked with Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle as well as a return to Chelsea.
However, the German giants believe they hold a slight advantage in negotiations as they have a positive relationship with Palace following the deal to bring Michael Olise to the Bundesliga a year ago. (Paul O’Keefe)
Who will sign CR7?
What it’ll take for Liverpool to sell Gakpo
Liverpool are adamant that they will not sell Cody Gakpo this summer, but could be tempted by a big-money offer.
Bayern Munich are out of the race to sign Florian Wirtz, with the Leverkusen midfielder likely to join the Reds, and the German giants hope to retaliate by trying to convince Gakpo to move to the Allianz Arena.
However, Liverpool will only accept bids of £75 million (€90 million) or more. (Mirror)
The lowdown on the Madrid new boy
Major blow for Premier League clubs as Rodrygo set to stay at Madrid
Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City will be reeling from the news that Rodrygo is set to be offered a new contract by Real Madrid.
It was previously reported that the Brazilian was keen to leave the Santiago Bernabeu after growing frustrated in his role at the club, playing third fiddle in attack to Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.
He was left out of the squad for the final Clasico of the campaign, though the player himself insists this was due to injury.
Football Espana reports that new coach Xabi Alonso and the Madrid hierarchy want Rodrygo to stay, while a new contract will also be offered.

Rashford or Diaz for Barca?
Arsenal told mammoth Sesko asking price
Arsenal have been told they must may £92.5 million (€110m) if they want to sign Benjamin Sesko.
With RB Leipzig not qualifying for the Champions League this season they need to sell if they want to spend big and their prized asset is Sesko, who was linked with the Gunners last year before he opted to remain with the German side for at least another season.
An exit from RB Leipzig is not a foregone conclusion, according to the player himself, and Arsenal may baulk at that valuation considering they will choose between Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres. (Telegraph)
Newcastle planning intriguing double Premier League swoop
Newcastle are planning a double Premier League swoop for Marc Guehi and Bryan Mbeumo this summer.
With Champions League football secured, Eddie Howe will be given significant money to spend and he has identified two players with English top flight experience to take his team to the next level.
Guehi has been linked for some time, while Mbeumo had been mentioned as a target for Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool previously.
The pair could cost a combined €120 million. (Telegraph)
