Elliot Anderson to join Man City

Elliot Anderson’s proposed summer move from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City is reportedly a done deal.

Arch-rivals Manchester United have also earmarked the 23-year-old as their priority transfer target for 2026 and rumours have suggested that Michael Carrick’s side are ready to challenge for Anderson’s signature following confirmation that Casemiro will depart on a Bosman deal in July.

However, the Red Devils are set to be left empty-handed as Anderson is on the verge of finalising an agreement with Man City.

That is according to transfer reporter Graeme Bailey, who told TEAMtalk: “I have to be honest, for several weeks now, from numerous sources, I am told that Anderson to City is a done deal.

“City have been on Anderson for months, since last year. I am told Hugo Viana picked him out last summer as one he wanted. In football circles, the belief is that Anderson is only going to one place and that is City.

“Whilst City and Forest are not confirming anything, I think that whilst nothing is signed, Anderson knows where he will be playing next season and that will be the Etihad.”

Karim Adeyemi battle

Chelsea are reportedly “confident” of beating Manchester United to the signing of Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi this summer.

Adeyemi has been heavily linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent months and it’s understood that a minimum fee of €60 million will be required to secure his signature this summer.

Arsenal and Liverpool have both been touted as potential destinations for the 24-year-old, although it is Chelsea and Man Utd who currently lead the race to sign him, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

It’s claimed that Man Utd view the possibility of signing Adeyemi as a “market opportunity” as they look to add another option to their current forward line. However, Chelsea are reportedly “confident” of beating their Premier League rivals to Adeyemi’s signature this summer amid their continued pursuit of attacking reinforcements.

Martin Odegaard decision

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard reportedly intends to sign a contract extension at the club, despite rumoured interest from numerous clubs across Europe.

The Norway international has been linked with a sensational move away from north London in recent weeks, with Inter Milan and Juventus among the clubs keeping tabs on his situation, but he has no intention of departing the Emirates Stadium.

Odegaard, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury, has just over two years remaining on his existing contract with the Gunners, but he intends to finalise fresh terms with the club over the coming months, as per TEAMtalk.

Intermediaries have reportedly sounded out transfer interest in the 27-year-old, however rumours that Odegaard is looking to leave Arsenal have been emphatically dismissed.

The midfielder is keen to extend his current deal, while Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is also eager to reach an agreement with Odegaard as he looks to retain the services of his club captain.

Real Madrid want Nico O’Reilly

Real Madrid are poised to ditch their interest in Rodri and instead target his Manchester City team-mate Nico O’Reilly, according to a report from Spain.

Rodri has been a long-time target of the Bernabeu club, but a serious injury to the Spain international last season put them off making a move last summer. Now it appears that such a deal might never happen at all, with Sport reporting that Los Blancos are not interested in meeting Man City’s €60 million asking price for the player.

Real Madrid’s interest in the Etihad club, though, is undiminished, with O’Reilly emerging as a major target, according to Fichajes.

Kobbie Mainoo problem

Kobbie Mainoo might be back in the Manchester United team, but the club’s headache over his contract negotiations are not over, with “issues” arising over the England star’s new deal.

In fact, there are “lingering issues” that Man Utd still need to address if they are to tie Mainoo down on an extended deal, the Daily Mail reports.

The 20-year-old continues to be paid a significantly lower salary than many of his colleagues, and there is a requirement for United to give him a substantial pay rise.

It’s a situation that the Red Devils’ Premier League rivals are keeping an eye on, aware that there could still be the potential to sign Mainoo in the summer if the situation is not swiftly resolved.
