TRANSFER RUMOURS: Man Utd deal made as world-record price tag set

The transfer window may be a couple of months away, but teams are already planning for January and beyond. Here are some of today’s biggest rumours.

Man Utd transfer imminent

Manchester United are poised to receive a major transfer windfall, with a deal taking Rasmus Hojlund to Napoli on a permanent basis all but completed.

The striker has excelled in Serie A since moving to Naples on loan, and Antonio Conte’s side are ready to make the temporary transfer a permanent move.

Napoli are ready to trigger the €44 million buy-out clause, which was originally installed in the agreement that has taken the No.9 to Italy.

Salah has €170m deal on the table

Liverpool attacker Mo Salah still has a lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League on the table.

Salah has endured a particularly difficult start to the season with the Anfield side and looks increasingly likely to leave the Premier League giants next summer.

The Saudi Pro League has offered him €170 million per year to make the leap, and the Egypt international is thought to be eager to play in the Middle East.

Spurs put world-record price tag on Van de Ven

Liverpool will have to stump up a world-record fee for a centre-back if they are to sign Micky van de Ven from Tottenham.

Spurs have reportedly set an asking price of €100 million for the Netherlands international defender.

While the Reds face competition from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, Van de Ven’s current employers have made it their priority to retain him on a lucrative new contract.
