Transfers: Moscardo to PSG, Matusiwa joins Rennes and more

PSG are preparing for the future — the capital club announced the signing of Gabriel Moscardo this Thursday. The 18-year-old Brazilian has signed with current Ligue 1 leader Uber Eats until 2028 but will finish the season at SC Corinthians. He had joined the Brazilian club at 12 years old in 2017, and quickly climbed the ranks before joining the first team in the summer of 2023. Quickly becoming indispensable, the midfielder played in 25 matches last season.

“I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain, it is one of the happiest days of my life. It’s a project with talented young players. I can’t wait to join the group and meet the whole team and staff. I hope to win many trophies in these colors and make the supporters happy,” said Moscardo in speaking with the club’s website.

There’s also a new midfielder at Stade Rennais. Currently tenth in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, the Breton side completed a deal for Azor Matusiwa from Stade de Reims on Monday. Trained at Ajax Amsterdam, he spent time with De Graafschap and Groningen before coming to France. The 25-year-old player is described by the club as “a complete midfielder, physical, full of effort, and with an ability to organize his team’s play.

In other news in the transfer window, Nantes have signed the former Toulouse FC right back Kelvin Amian from Italian side Spezia, while Marseille confirmed the arrival of the Cameroonian striker Faris Moumbagna from Swiss side Young Boys.
