Kostas Tsimikas has made it clear that he is ‘very focused’ on the task ahead with Roma, despite recent rumours linking him with a return to Liverpool in January.
Tsimikas joined Roma on a season-long loan deal from reigning Premier League champions Liverpool over the summer, but hasn’t always found it easy to nail down opportunities at the Stadio Olimpico.
The ‘Greek Scouser’ has featured in 11 Serie A matches this term, but only for 380 minutes, only starting three times in the league so far. That is despite regular left wing-back Angelino being absent for much of the 2025-26 campaign.

There have been reports over the last few weeks that Tsimikas could return to Liverpool ahead of schedule, particularly if Andrew Robertson were to leave Anfield this month. However, updates over the last few days indicate that neither Tsimikas nor Robertson are set to leave their current clubs before the end of the window.
Tsimikas comments on Liverpool return rumours
Tsimikas had an opportunity to address the recent rumours during his pre-match press conference ahead of Roma’s Europa League decider against Panathinaikos in his native Greece.
“I try to give the best version of myself every time the coach gives me the opportunity,” Tsimikas told the media (via TMW). “I try to take advantage of it. My goal is to evolve as a footballer, to progress and I believe I can give much more. This is and will remain my goal.”

And when asked to comment on the rumours of an early return to Liverpool, Tsimikas said: “I’m very focused on my team. I want to be part of this group and improve as a player. We’ve heard a lot of rumours, a lot of information, but it’s better to cover your ears and just try to give your best when the opportunities come.
“For me, my only goal is this: I am here and I want to show the best of myself.”
And on the task at hand for Roma on Thursday night, he added: “The fans in Greece are always very active, they help the players. We’ll be focused on our game. We absolutely want to win tomorrow to improve our position. We’ve come here to win and that’s the only goal.”
