Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has confirmed that Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui won’t face Arsenal in the Premier League curtain-raiser at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Red Devils had a disastrous 2024/25 campaign in the top-flight. They finished 15th in the standings with only 42 points on the board.
The club will be aiming for a much better start this time around, but they face a stern challenge early on with Arsenal making the trip to Old Trafford.
Ahead of the season opener, Amorim has confirmed that Martinez and Mazraoui won’t feature, having yet to recover from their own injuries.
However, the likes of Joshua Zirkzee and Andre Onana have recovered on time and could make the matchday squad to face the Gunners at home.
Benjamin Sesko is also ready to play after a couple of training sessions, but a late decision will be made on whether he makes the starting XI or not.
United will start as underdogs against Arsenal despite being at home.
