Two Premier League clubs are in talks to sign Lille striker Jonathan David, according to a report.
The Canadian forward, who has scored 25 goals in 48 appearances this season, this week confirmed he will leave for free once his contract expires this summer.
‘Every story has a beginning and an end,’ the striker said in a video posted on Instagram.
‘I wanted to tell you myself that, after many years at the club, it is time for me to say goodbye.’
Now, both Aston Villa and Tottenham are battling it out to sign David after holding talks with him according to L’Equipe
However, both clubs face competition from Serie A, with giants Napoli and Juventus also keen to land the forward.

David joined Lille from Belgian side Gent in 2020 and has scored 109 goals in 231 games.
He won the Ligue 1 title in 2020-21, the club’s first victory in a decade. The 25-year-old has also represented Canada 61 times, bagging 32 goals.
He will play his final game for Lille against Reims on Saturday in their last league fixture of the campaign.
The forward previously said his preferred destination would be Spain, having previously also been linked with moves to Arsenal and Manchester United.
Speaking to the It’s Called Soccer podcast, he said: ‘I think I can adapt to every league. Every league has its differences.
‘The Premier League is a lot faster and more physical than all of the other leagues. But for me, I grew up watching a lot of LaLiga and for me, that would be my preferred league.
‘That is the league that I enjoyed watching the most so one day I would like to play there.’
