After yesterday’s Champions League final, UEFA’s coefficient table is updated for one last time this season.
The gap between Germany and the top-three ranked associations further extended after a disappointing season by Bundesliga clubs in Europe. Bundesliga had five representatives in the Champions League this term, but they amassed fewer points than their English, Spanish and Italian counterparts.
After failing to finish in the top-two last term, Premier League (29.464) regained its top spot. In fact, the difference between Bundesliga (18.421) and Ligue 1 (17.928) was slim after PSG’s Champions League triumph.
Meanwhile, the gap between third-placed Serie A (21.875) and the Bundesliga is higher than the one between Germany’s top-flight and eighth-placed Eredivisie (15.250).
In the five-year ranking, which determines the allocation of clubs in European competitions, Bundesliga still maintained its fourth place, but this season’s disappointment helped the top three to go in the league of their own.
In terms of club coefficient, Bayern sit third in the five-year ranking, trailing Real Madrid and Manchester City. Borussia Dortmund (8th), Bayer Leverkusen (13th) and RB Leipzig (20th) also made the cut in the top 20.
