UEFA Women’s Europa Cup Preview: Nordsjælland vs. Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt are aiming for a place in the semi-final of the inaugural UEFA Women’s Europa Cup.

Eintracht Frankfurt Frauen are prepared to complete the job as they target a UEFA Women’s Europa Cup semi-final berth with an aggregate win over Nordsjælland. The Frauen-Bundesliga side won the first-leg at home 4-0 last week.

Frankfurt entered the inaugural competition in the second qualifying round after getting eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid. After scoring five goals each over two legs against Slovácko and PSV Eindhoven, Niko Arnautis’ side were seeded with the 2024 Danish Women’s Cup winners, Nordsjælland.

With starring performances from Nicole Anyomi and Rebecka Blomqvist, Frankfurt won last week’s fixture with four goals inside an hour at Stadion am Brentanobad. The four-time Champions League winners extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to six games with a 4-1 win over Carl Zeiss Jena on Saturday.

On Wednesday, they will hope to make it six wins out of six in the UEFA Women’s Europa Cup. Since the season calendar is different in Denmark, Nordsjælland are yet to play a competitive game at home in 2026.

BK Häcken seemed to have an even better chance of making it into the semis after a 7-0 victory over Breiðablik. Fellow Swedish side Hammarby will hope to hold on to their slender lead when they host Sporting CP, while Sparta Prague and Austria Wien end goalless in the first-leg.

The semi-finals will be played next month to decide the teams competing in the first-ever two-legged final at the end of April and the start of May.
