USWNT and Angel City striker Christen Press has given fans an update on the status of her long-winded injury battle.
Press has been sidelined since June 2022 when she initially suffered a torn ACL.
As a result of complications during her recovery, however, she has been forced to undergo four separate surgeries on her injured knee.
Her most recent surgery took place in July and resulted in her missing the entire 2023 season and the most recent FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Thursday morning Press tweeted out: ‘Hi folks! As you’ll see, I’m still not yet in team training. Working hard everyday to get back and get ready for the season.

Press posted a tweet saying that she is still recovering and not ready to rejoin team practice
‘Excited for what 2024 will bring! Thanks for the love… please keep it coming.’
During her last season on the field she recorded two goals in eight appearances.
Angel City recently released their preseason roster on Wednesday and the team made sure to include Press’s name, leading to speculation that she may be set to come back sooner than most expected.
ACFC are currently partaking in pre-season preparations for the season which will begin in March.
The team’s full official schedule has yet to be released but is expected to be made available sooner rather than later.
