Hellas Verona have secured the replacement for Jackson Tchatchoua, as Rafik Belghali is ready to fly in for his transfer from KV Mechelen.
The Serie A side needed a new player after selling Tchatchoua to Wolverhampton Wanderers this week for €12m.
Reports in Belgium this afternoon are confirmed, Belghali is expected to finalise the details and undergo his medical tests over the next 48 hours.
Belghali a new buy for Hellas Verona
He just turned 23 in June and was born in Belgium, but plays his international football for Algeria.
A right-back who can also play in a more advanced role down that flank, his contract with Belgian side Mechelen was due to expire at the end of this season anyway.
Spending time in several different youth academies, he flourished when moving to KV Mechelen in 2023.
Belghali made 38 competitive appearances for the club last season, where he scored one goal and provided two assists.
