Mainz are pleased to announce that centre-half Stefan Bell has extended his expiring contract by one year until 2026.
Bell, who developed in Mainz’s youth system in 2007 and is a Mainz veteran, has made a total of 307 competitive appearances in all competitions.
The 33-year-old, originally from Andernach, has appeared in 17 matches for FSV this season.
“The entire development of Mainz 05 over the past few years has been simply enjoyable, and I’m incredibly excited to continue contributing to it on and off the pitch.
“After 18 years together, there’s a deep relationship of trust, and the discussions have been correspondingly good and relaxed.
“Now we want to successfully finish this already special season and build on that next year,” said Bell this morning at the announcement.
