Chelsea target Victor Osimhen went head to head with Napoli team-mate Giovanni Di Lorenzo in a Call of Duty tournament this week as both Serie A stars led three-man squads battling for bragging rights.
Osimhen had Giovanni Simeone – the son of Atletico Madrid Diego – and Eljif Elmas on his team, while Di Lorenzo had Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Leo Ostigard among his ranks as they played a best of three matches in the beta for Modern Warfare III.
Di Lorenzo’s team came out on top in the first match, with Kvaratskhelia leading by example with 23 kills, before Osimhen’s side fought back in the second game as Simeone captured numerous flags in the ‘domination’ mode – setting up a winner-takes-all final round.
And even though Osimhen was Serie A’s top scorer during Napoli’s title-winning season last term with 26 goals, he was not as clinical with the controller in his hand as his team were beaten at the crucial moment.
Di Lorenzo put in a captain’s performance to seal victory for his team as he scored a triple kill to wipe out all of his Napoli team-mates.

The 30-year-old defender was crowned as the MVP of the tournament to cap off a brilliant display.
He said: ‘Wow thank you! It’s not only a pleasure to be able to play Call of Duty early – and win of course – but also to be crowned the MVP.
‘The classic maps felt great to play again and that triple kill was something else! I am extremely excited for the launch of the new game later this year.
It might not have been the best performance from Osimhen virtually, but he has had a good season on the pitch.
Osimhen has netted five times from six Serie A starts this season to continue his impressive goalscoring run from the last campaign.
Osimhen has been in better form on the pitch – netting five goals from his first six starts
However, he has been involved in some controversy this season after his own club appeared to mock him on their official TikTok account for missing a penalty against Bologna.
The second then labelled him a ‘coconut’ and has been viewed as a racial slur.
His agent threatened to sue the Serie A side in the wake of the fallout and Napoli responded by insisting that no offence was intended, though they did not apologise.
Napoli’s social media executive has since stepped down from his role.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III launches on November 10 on Playstation, Xbox and PC.
