Victor Osimhen has made it in no uncertain terms clear that he will honour his Galatasaray contract.

The Nigerian sharpshooter showed that he is still one of Europe’s deadliest strikers when he put Tottenham to the sword in the Europa League on Thursday. Galatasaray were rampant, causing the Spurs defence nightmares with their aggressive pressing and Osimhen was the star of the show.

The on-loan striker netted a brace but, in truth, he could have scored three or four. Osimhen was simply irresistible and his performance will have only increased the interest in his services.

Chelsea, PSG and Al-Ahli were all vying for his signature in the summer but ultimately could not reach an agreement with the 25-year-old, hence why Napoli loaned him to Istanbul.

Osimhen opens up on future

His move to Galatasaray was, perhaps disrespectfully, seen as a mere intermezzo to help the player stay fit until January when a break clause would allow him to finally get his move to one of Europe’s elite clubs.

However, reports in Turkey and Italy have suggested that Osimhen is very happy on the Bosphorus and could even complete a permanent move to Galatasaray if they manage to muster the necessary funds – believed to be between €60 million and €75m – through sponsorships and other means.

Now, the man himself has broken his silence on what the future may hold for him. Speaking after the 3-2 victory over Tottenham, Osimhen confirmed the reports that he is happy at Galatasaray and made it clear that he won’t jump ship in January.

“I’m here as a Galatasaray player, I’m happy here. Since I came, the Galatasaray fans, the club, I saw how big a family this club is. The way they have treated me and my family in a wonderful manner.

“It’s important to be able to give them my all on the pitch. I’ve seen a lot of the speculation linking me out of the club in January, I can state through me now I’m going to be here until the end of the season,” he said.
