A video that has gone viral in Italy appears to show referee Marco Guida kicking Milan winger Alexis Saelemaekers while the Belgian was celebrating Mike Maignan’s penalty save.
Milan-Roma referee Guida appeared to kick Rossoneri winger Saelemaekers after Maignan saved a Paulo Dybala penalty in the second half of a Serie A match at San Siro last night.
Saelemaekers couldn’t contain his joy after Maignan’s crucial intervention, but seemed to be kicked on his right leg by the referee.
Former referee blames Guida: ‘Serious error’
Former Serie A official Graziano Cesari showed the video on TV last night and said (via Calciomercato.com): “Guida made a serious error, it’s an unacceptable behaviour for a referee.
“He could have booked Saelemaekers, but he didn’t and really crossed the line.”
