Viktor Gyokeres has already triggered a number of add-ons in his Arsenal contract, with the Gunners potentially set to pay Sporting CP another sum in the near future
Viktor Gyokeres could net Sporting CP over £400,000 this weekend if the Arsenal forward scores or sets up three goals against Chelsea on Sunday.
As part of the bonuses negotiated when securing the Sweden international last summer, his former club are owed £437,000 for every 20-goal contribution, according to The Sun. After netting twice against Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby, Gyokeres has reached 15 goals and two assists across all competitions.
A hat-trick at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, or three goal contributions, would trigger the milestone, although it would require an exceptional display. The most goals Gyokeres has contributed in a single fixture this season are two.
Gyokeres has, however, achieved this six times this term, one of which was against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.
Gyokeres netted Arsenal’s second and teed up Martin Zubimendi for their third in the 3-2 away victory.

That marked the first match he found the back of the net and provided an assist for a team-mate’s goal.
The only other instance arrived a fortnight later, during another 3-2 triumph, this time against Kairat in their final fixture of the Champions League’s league phase.

Sunday’s victory over Spurs marked his fourth double, with the others arriving against Atletico Madrid, Leeds United and Sunderland. Gyokeres’ strikes, however, will cost Arsenal no more than £874,000 additional funds, as there is only one further instalment linked to his scoring should the forward manage to reach 40 goals and assists.
Appearances, though, are an element Arsenal have already needed to supplement the initial sum they paid Sporting. They are reported to have paid out £1.1million after Gyokeres made his 20th appearance that lasted at least a complete half – 45 minutes – which was the 3-2 triumph over Bournemouth.
Sporting will continue to collect that sum after every 20 appearances that satisfy the minutes-based requirements, up to No. 80.
At that stage, they will have banked £4.4million in total from their former frontman representing Arsenal.
Gyokeres has reached 30 following the north London derby, so another payment could materialise before the conclusion of this campaign if he remains fully fit.
Sporting will also be anticipating the £874,000 they are owed from the Gunners upon securing next season’s Champions League qualification. They are set to collect that figure each time Arsenal qualify, until it totals £3.5million, for a sum of four instalments.
By the close of the season, Gyokeres could set Arsenal back a total of £3.5m in additional fees, inclusive of the clauses he’s already activated.
