Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres has his sights on joining Arsenal during the summer transfer window, according to CNN Portugal.
The Sweden international had a sensational 2024/25 campaign where he scored 54 goals and provided 13 assists from just 52 outings.
He has his sights on a new challenge away from Sporting CP and reports claim that Arsenal have the upper hand in the transfer race.
The player’s agent had a meeting with the Gunners’ hierarchy earlier today and there could be a formal offer made in the coming days.
Gyokeres has joining the Gunners as his top priority for the summer and it remains to be seen whether the club seek to recruit him.
The Swede has a release clause worth £100 million in his current deal, but can be purchased for a package of around £68 million.
Manchester United are also interested in securing the services of the ex-Coventry City man, but his first choice is to join Mikel Arteta‘s side.
