Vincent Kompany shares team news and discusses Bayern’s “difficult task” against Arsenal

At a press conference on Tuesday, Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany gave a personnel update and reflected on his team’s upcoming Champions League clash with Arsenal.

Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany expects to have a full squad at his disposal for Wednesday night’s highly-anticipated Champions League clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

As the Belgian coach revealed at his pre-match press conference, Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry are both in line to return to action after the duo missed Saturday’s 6-2 win over Freiburg.

“Serge Gnabry is looking good. We’ll see if he can play 90 minutes. We were worried, but he’s giving good signals, it’s looking good. Joshua Kimmich has also given good signals. It was a positive day. We’ll probably have all players available,” said the Bayern coach.

Like Bayern, Arsenal have won all four of their Champions League games so far this season, and Kompany is fully aware of the challenge that lies ahead.

“We won our first four matches, which was important. So far, we’ve done what we set out to do, and we hope that this continues. But playing against this team will be the most difficult task we face at the moment. We’re happy about that – that’s why we’re here, that’s what we want,” said Kompany.

“As a player in big teams, you analyse your opponents’ strengths, but you also believe in your own strengths. It’s true that there’s a lot to consider when you play Arsenal. But they have to do the same. We want to have a good day. And if we manage that, we’ll be able to show what we’re capable of. I can see what makes Arsenal special, but I don’t want to forget what makes us special. And it’s important that we show that tomorrow.”
