Vinicius Jr schools NFL star Jefferson and then does his trademark griddy celebration

Justin Jefferson may well be one of the NFL’s top talents but he was no match for Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr on the football pitch.

Jefferson is a wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings and has just started his fourth year with the team and took some time away to meet one of football’s up and coming stars in Vinicius Jr.

Both took part in a series of challenges, with one in particular seeing the Real Madrid man show his class.

Jefferson was tasked with going in goal on a small five-a-side pitch and saving three attempts from the 23-year-old.

He was confident going in to it, saying: “Imma be the goalie, he gotta score on me. He got three chances, I don’t think he gone get one.”

Jefferson added: “Let’s see if the best soccer player can score against me.

The answer to his question came moments later as Vinicius Jr ran from the halfway line to the mini box and pulled out the skills, with the NFL star left wondering what to do with his feet.

He could only laugh as the Brazilian continued to toy with him on the ball before slotting it through his legs.

The winger then ran off and started doing the ‘griddy’, the celebration the NFL star did for his first ever touchdown in 2020.

Vinicius Jr, who is currently nursing an injury, also scored on his second attempt but was denied on the third.

The roles were then reversed and Jefferson missed all his shots, so it looks as though he’ll stick to what he knows best.

He picked up his first touchdown of the season on Sunday in their 24-28 defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Aged just 24, the 2022 Offensive Player of the Year will certainly have many more years of game time in the NFL ahead of him
