Former Germany international Kevin Volland will be playing for 1860 München in the third tier of German football next season.
This was confirmed by his current club, Union Berlin, and the 3. Liga outfit on Monday.
“It was always great to play for Union – in front of these special fans, with this unique atmosphere,” said Volland
“Even though it wasn’t always easy on the pitch, I felt very comfortable here and gained a lot of important experience,” added the striker.
The 32-year-old striker now returns to the club where his professional journey began.
“Now I’m looking forward to another chapter at the club where I grew up. I wish Union all the best for the future.”
Volland joined Union Berlin in the summer of 2023 for a reported fee of €4 million. During his time in the capital, he made 36 appearances and scored four goals.
