Bukayo Saka’s return from injury could prove vital as Mikel Arteta’s side face Real Madrid at the Emirates in the first leg of their quarter-final tie, with the game not being shown live on TNT Sports
Arsenal kick off the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals by welcoming Real Madrid to the Emirates tonight. The Gunners face the Spanish and European champions for only the third time in history, with each side fighting for a place in the final four.
Mikel Arteta’s side impressed in the round of 16, demolishing PSV Eindhoven 7-1 in Holland before claiming a 9-3 aggregate triumph. Real Madrid were not as convincing in their last 16 showdown and were only secured a quarter-final spot in a controversial penalty shootout against local rivals Atlético Madrid.
Real, leading 2-1 from the first leg, trailed 1-0 on the night for more than 90 minutes after Atlético’s Conor Gallagher found the net inside 30 seconds, but ultimately won 4-2 on penalties. The competition remains Arsenal’s only chance at silverware this season with Liverpool sitting 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

A last eight win will set up a semi-final against Aston Villa or Paris Saint-Germain, with those sides set to meet on Wednesday. Arsenal will have home advantage tonight, and Bukayo Saka – who has just returned from injury – says Real ‘need to be ready’,
Speaking on Monday, Saka said: “We haven’t lost a home game in the Champions League in the last two years. I’m sure they know that. They need to be ready because we’re pretty good at the Emirates.”
And he admits the Gunners are hoping to produce a major statement against Carlo Ancelotti’s side: “There is a massive gap there for so many years when nothing has happened in this football club in relation to European competitions. And we need to change that. And we need to change that quickly.”
Unlike most Champions League fixtures, Arsenal vs Real Madrid will not be broadcast on TNT Sports, but there is a way to watch the game completely free.
