Only Pep Guardiola and Manchester City stand between Nottingham Forest and an FA Cup final. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have enjoyed a sensational campaign in the Premier League, but the cup now provides a golden opportunity for silverware.

Tipped for the relegation zone after only just avoiding the drop last year, Nuno’s side have defied all expectations and gatecrashed the race for the top four. As a result of the English teams’ strong performances in European competitions this year, Forest only need to finish fifth to secure a place in next season’s Champions League.

However, they also have the opportunity to win their first major title since Brian Clough’s side lifted the League Cup in 1990. Ahead of the FA Cup semi-final against City, Mirror Football takes you through everything you need to know to tune into the match.

What time does Forest vs City kick-off?

The match will officially kick-off at 4:30pm with the build-up, analysis and interviews taking place beforehand. Television coverage of the match will officially start at 3.30pm.

The BBC and ITV share the broadcast rights for FA Cup matches, with the BBC receiving first pick of the matches in rounds one, three, five and the semi-finals, while ITV get the first picks for the rest of the rounds. While the FA Cup final is simultaneously shown on the BBC and ITV, the semi-finals are shared with the BBC and ITV receiving one match each.

Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace was selected by the BBC, meaning ITV will be broadcasting City vs Forest. Those who prefer to live stream the game online can do so by watching the match on ITVX. Viewers in Scotland can also watch on STV Scotland and STV Player.

One awkward situation could also see viewers be forced to choose between the FA Cup semi-final or Liverpool’s potentially title-winning clash against Tottenham Hotspur. Kick-off for Arne Slot’s side’s game against Ange Postecoglou’s struggling Spurs is also at 4:30pm.

FA Cup final details

The winner of City and Forest will compete in the FA Cup final on May 17. Unlike the other rounds, the FA Cup final is billed as a ‘simulcast’, meaning it is broadcast on two different channels at the exact same time.

The BBC and ITV will both be showing the match on television at the same time. However, each channel will have their own punditry and commentary teams providing their own analysis.

Viewers will be able to tune in via BBC One and ITV1, while online streamers can watch the final on BBC iPlayer or ITVX. The 2025 FA Cup final will be ITV’s final FA Cup match for the foreseeable future, after losing out to the BBC and TNT Sports for the right to broadcast the competition from the start of next season onwards.
