On Tuesday, Borussia Dortmund finally completed the signing of Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland on a long-term contract until 2030.

Dortmund is familiar territory for the Bellingham family, as his older brother, Jude, spent three seasons at Signal Iduna Park before making a high-profile move to Real Madrid.

But as Jobe Bellingham made clear after completing his transfer, he’s eager to forge his own path.

“I’ve been here before. Watching games, hearing the fans chant, feeling the power of these colours. This place has stuck with me,” he said after competing his move.

“Now I’m here again – not to watch, and not to follow anyone’s footsteps.

“The same stadium. The same city. But the story – that’s ours to write now.”

The 19-year-old midfielder has already met his new teammates and taken part in his first training session at his new club.
