Sandro Schwarz’s side claimed a resounding 4-0 win over Miami on Saturday, with Lewis Morgan firing home a hat-trick against his former club at Red Bull Arena.

It was a joyous afternoon for the Red Bulls, who produced their finest display of the season so far up against the likes of Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

And if their performance in the game wasn’t enough, New York stars also won over fans with a heartwarming act prior to kickoff on the day.

In a clip which has gone viral on social media, the likes of Morgan and Dante Vanzeir can be seen giving their practice coats to the mascots who walked out with them to the field as heavy rain continued to fall before the game.

Vanzeir, who registered four assists against Miami, appeared to be the player who started the trend as both teams lined up ahead of kickoff, taking off his coat and wrapping the young boy stood in front of him in his jacket.

Morgan then followed suit and put his coat on the mascot who accompanied him to the field, as did Frankie Amaya, Andres Reyes, Wikelman Carmona and Peter Stroud.

It was a touch of class from the home players, who received widespread praise for the gesture on social media.

The Red Bulls captioned a video of the moment by saying: ‘We’re not crying, you are’.

One user replied on X: ‘Love every bit of this’.

‘I’m not crying – Just got something in my eye,’ joked another.

A third commented: ‘Class act, love to see it!’

MLS’ official account also put: ‘Those kids will never forget that moment’.
