‘Watching Arsenal is like watching Netflix’ – Evra

Manchester United legend Patrice Evra has slammed Arsenal by joking they are similar to popular streaming service Netflix.

The Gunners have established themselves as one of the best teams in Europe over the past few years, but their last major trophy came back in 2020, while they haven’t won the Premier League since 2004.

Mikel Arteta’s side have finished as runners-up to Manchester City in each of the last two seasons and their bid to finally end their English top flight drought was severely hampered by a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth on 19 October.

Evra has now taken aim at the north London club during an interview with former Man Utd team-mate Rio Ferdinand.

“Watching Arsenal is like watching Netflix,” Evra claimed on Ferdinand’s YouTube channel. “You always have to wait for the next season!

“Trust me, every season is going to be like that so don’t even get involved. I’m really nice, peaceful. Of course, United right now is a disaster.

“But please don’t speak about Arsenal because now, what, you’re going to cry for the referee, come on.”

Arsenal have finished ahead of Man Utd in each of the last three Premier League campaigns, although the Red Devils have tasted both Carabao Cup and FA Cup glory during that time.

Patrice Evra on Man Utd’s struggles

In addition to his comments about Arsenal, Evra also recently revealed that Man Utd’s current demise dates back to his time at the club.

He told BBC Sport: “It’s always tough to talk about United right now because back in the day we used to play for the fans, for the badge, for the history.

“I blame myself, I blame Sir Alex Ferguson. When we left, we left too early and it’s difficult for the players because they don’t have any examples.

“It’s not just about this season, it’s since we won the last league in 2013, the club has been in chaos.”
