“We played great football” – Tabakovic delighted with Gladbach’s first Bundesliga win

Haris Tabakovic was all smiles after netting a brace to help Gladbach to their first Bundesliga win of the season.

Borussia Mönchengladbach finally secured their long-awaited first Bundesliga win of the season on Saturday, thrashing St. Pauli 4-0.

Haris Tabakovic played a key role for Die Fohlen, scoring twice and providing an assist.

Unsurprisingly, the 31-year-old striker was thrilled with both the result and his team’s performance.

“We were ready from the start and played great football. I’m very proud of the team,” Tabakovic told Sky after the game.

“Taking the lead gave us momentum. After that, we played with a lot of confidence. Even under pressure, we defended well and, when necessary, played the ball long,” he added.

After a challenging start to the season, Tabakovic has gradually found his feet and is now on six goals in 10 appearances across all competitions.

“Criticism at the start of the season is part of football when things don’t go well. Strikers are judged by their goals. I stayed calm and just kept pushing on the pitch,” he said.
