Borussia Mönchengladbach have confirmed Julian Weigl’s transfer to Saudi Arabia.

Julian Weigl has officially departed Borussia Mönchengladbach to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Qadsiah.

“Julian has been a starter here for the past three seasons and has also fulfilled his role as a leader on the pitch and in the dressing room for Borussia,” said Borussia Mönchengladbach managing director for sport Roland Virkus,

“He wanted to move from a sporting perspective, and we agreed to his wish and have tried to find a solution that benefits all parties together. We want to thank Julian for his commitment and wish him and his family all the best for the future.”

Weigl featured 94 times Borussia, scoring three goals and providing six assists.

“I’m proud that I had the chance to wear a Borussia kit and always gave it my all for the team. I wish everyone at Borussia only the best for the future,” he said.
