Werder’s Schmidt leaves Switzerland camp with injury

Werder Bremen’s Isaac Schmidt has suffered an injury while on international duty with Switzerland.

Isaac Schmidt has left the Swiss national team camp early and returned to Germany after picking up an injury, Werder Bremen announced on Sunday.

The Bundesliga club revealed that the right-back sustained a foot injury in training. 

Further examinations will take place in Bremen over the coming days to determine the extent of the injury.

Schmidt did not feature in Switzerland’s 2–0 win over Sweden on Friday evening.

He joined Werder Bremen on loan from Leeds United during the summer.
