West Ham are among clubs, including Chelsea, who are monitoring Newcastle’s Callum Wilson but talks have yet to develop.
Chelsea are considering short term options but ideally want Napoli’s Victor Osimhen in the summer.
It comes after Mail Sport reported earlier this week that AC Milan had expressed an interest in signing the 31-year-old on a permanent deal this month.
David Moyes’ side have been left short of options in attack with both Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus and Michail Antonio all suffering injuries at the start of the year.
Chelsea have also had their fair share of injuries this season, with forward Christopher Nkunku having been sidelined again with a hip injury after missing the first half of the 2023-24 campaign.

Wilson could be a viable option for both clubs with his contract at Newcastle set to expire in 2025.
He joined the Magpies back in 2020 following a six year stint at Bournemouth and has gone on to score 46 goals for the club in 102 appearances since joining.
The Newcastle forward has also endured several injury lay-offs this season.
Recently Wilson has been nursing a calf problem that has seen him miss Newcastle’s last three games but he could return to action in the coming weeks.

Real Betis are continuing to ask for West Ham midfielder Pablo Fornals, whose contract will expire in the summer
So far this season, he has found the back of the net eight times in 20 appearances across all competitions for Eddie Howe’s side, with his last goal coming in their Carabao Cup defeat by Chelsea in December.
Real Betis are, meanwhile, continuing to ask for West Ham midfielder Pablo Fornals on loan.
The 27-year-old, whose contract will expire later this summer, has struggled to break into Moyes’ first team this season, having made 15 Premier League appearances but starting in only four of those games.
