West Ham United have been forced to make an early decision over the potential sacking of manager Nuno Espirito Santo just weeks into his reign at the London Stadium.

Nuno lost his job with Nottingham Forest earlier this season following a disagreement with owner Evangelos Marinakis, but after taking over from Graham Potter at West Ham is already under fire.

The Portuguese has only been in charge of the Hammers for four matches, but after picking up just one Premier League point from a possible 12, is already under fire.

Following a 2-1 loss against Leeds United on Friday, the London club are 19th in the Premier League and in serious danger of relegation.

According to The Times, West Ham are not thinking about sacking Nuno yet. It is claimed they are “eager to avoid changing their coach for a second time this season”. Certainly, after just four matches, it would be an embarrassing climbdown for the club if they were to sack the 51-year-old barely a month into the job.

Hammers admit transfer mistake

West Ham have admitted, however, that they have made one catastrophic error has been made this season.

Only signing striker Callum Wilson to strengthen in the summer, there is an admission that they have not done enough to add to their scoring power. The former Newcastle striker, who arrived on a free transfer, has scored only one goal and has struggled to win the trust of Nuno.

As such, the Hammers will sign a striker in the January transfer window.

West Ham have already been linked with a move for Real Madrid youngster Endrick as well as the possibility of bringing Ivan Toney back to the Premier League from Saudi Arabia.

Neither of these deals is likely to come cheap, but with West Ham having scored only seven Premier League goals, it may be required to keep the Hammers in the top flight.
