West Ham are considering a late swoop for Wolfsburg attacker Patrick Wimmer, according to Bild.

The German tabloid reports that Wimmer himself is not opposed to the move, but that Wolfsburg are reluctant to let him leave.

According to local publication AZ/WAZ, the Austrian international turned down interest from Brighton & Hove Albion earlier in the summer.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder still has two years left on his contract with Wolfsburg.

He joined Die Wölfe from Arminia Bielefeld for a reported €5 million fee in 2022.
