Napoli are waiting for Galatasaray’s financial guarantees that they will pay Victor Osimhen’s release clause in full, before approving his permanent move to Turkey.
Football Italia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà explained the Osimhen transfer in detail in his latest column for Caught Offside.
Osimhen already spent a season on loan with the Turkish club and wants to remain beyond the summer.
A meeting between Galatasaray and Napoli took place on Wednesday.
What Galatasaray need to finalise Osimhen transfer

“Regardless of what his future holds, Napoli want to collect the full €75m of his release clause. De Laurentiis usually doesn’t miss these chances,” explained Pedullà.
“When it’s time to cash in, he stands firm, doesn’t give discounts and pulls the rope until it gets exactly where he wants. It’s an unwritten rule, but one respected by anyone who negotiates with him. A clear and final message to Galatasaray. If you want Victor, pay the clause and stop worrying.
“Galatasaray is moving in that direction, but they need to provide certified guarantees. When it comes to guarantees it’s not just numbers on paper. Real, tangible backing is needed because Napoli would never accept a missed payment once the season has started.
“The club’s position is immovable, a wall: €75m, period. The Turkish club has understood this, even though they initially thought they could negotiate a discount or a more convenient plan. De Laurentiis was clear from the start. No to proposals that come with discounts.
“Napoli don’t do discounts and are convinced they hold the winning card. A solid bank transfer would be enough to make everyone happy.”
Osimhen the goal machine

Osimhen scored 37 goals in 41 Galatasaray matches in 2024-25, winning the Turkish domestic title as the best player in the league.
The Nigerian forward has a contract with Napoli until 2026, but the Partenopei hold an option to extend it to 2027, which means they are in no hurry to sell the striker this summer.
Osimhen has won one Serie A title at the Stadio Maradona and netted 76 times in 133 competitive matches with the Partenopei from 2020 to 2024.
