The biggest win in Liverpool’s history came on September 17th 1974 when new manager Bob Paisley led his side to a stunning 11-0 over Norwegian side Stromsgodset in the Cup Winner’s Cup – the equivalent of the Europa League.

The Reds led 5-0 in the first round at half-time and ended the game with nine of their starting XI finding the scoresheet against the amateur side at Anfield to set a record that has not been beaten in nearly 50 years.
