Which teams have spent the most on transfers this summer?

Liverpool have spent the most money on new signings of any club in world football during the 2025 summer transfer window so far.

Following their triumph during the 2024-25 Premier League season, the Reds have backed Arne Slot in the market with several high-profile signings as they look to defend their crown.

Liverpool have signed Florian Wirtz for a club-record fee of €125 million, while they have also purchased Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pesci, with the quartet costing a combined €213.7m.

Chelsea, who have been serial spenders under the BlueCo consortium ownership, have racked up the second-highest expenditure during the summer window so far.

Enzo Maresca’s side have spent a combined €179.5m on the signings of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Estevao Willian, Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr and Kendry Paez. Their spending will increase further when the addition of Jamie Gittens is confirmed.

Manchester City are in third place after spending €130.7m on four new signings: Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki and Marcus Bettinelli.

Juventus have amassed the fourth-largest expenditure so far this summer, splashing a combined €73.9m on Nico Gonzalez, Lloyd Kelly, Pierre Kalulu and Michele Di Gregorio.

Tottenham Hotspur are in fifth place, having spent €71m on Mathys Tel, Kevin Danso and Luka Vuskovic, while Atletico Madrid are sixth.

Diego Simeone’s side have spent €65m on the signings of Alex Baena from Villarreal and both Matteo Ruggeri and Juan Musso from Atalanta. They have also picked up Clement Lenglet on a free transfer.

Atalanta have the seventh-highest transfer expenditure this summer, with €61.8m spent on four new signings, including Kamaldeen Sulemana, while they are closely followed by Bayer Leverkusen, who have splashed €61.5m on five summer arrivals, most notably Jarell Quansah.

Brighton & Hove Albion are ninth, having spent €60m, and Borussia Dortmund complete the top 10.
