Who wins the 2025/26 Meisterschale? 17 of 18 Bundesliga coaches nominate Bayern Munich

The survey unanimously favours the Bavarian record champions to retain the Meisterschale.

Ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 campaign, the German Press Agency (DPA) asked each head coach who will win the Bundesliga title.

The result was unanimous – 17 of the 18 Bundesliga gaffers (Kompany not included) believe Bayern Munich will reign supreme. 

Werder Bremen’s Horst Steffen kept his argument for his argument straightforward: “They simply have the best team”. 

Meanwhile, the Bundesliga’s longest-serving head coach, Heidenheim’s Frank Schmidt, was a bit more elaborate.

“The points gap was already very large last year. That’s why I don’t think the other teams will be able to close the gap,” he explained.

Last season’s Coach of the Year, SC Freiburg’s Julian Schuster, held some more optimism but ultimately believes the Bavarians will triumph.

“I think things are getting a bit closer [at the top] again. But in the end, Bayern will be at the top again,” the 40-year-old reckoned. 

The result was clear – Not a single coach dared to pick an outsider, but consistently chose the supposedly safe option of Bayern.
