Reports on Monday claimed that Juventus were on the verge of sending Next Gen graduate Jonas Rouhi to Belgian side KVC Westerlo on what was the final day of the Belgian summer transfer window, but the negotiations reportedly broke down at the last minute. Here’s why.
Though the Serie A transfer window closed on September 1, markets remain open in a handful of nations elsewhere, which means that Italian clubs can still sanction sales, but can not bring in any more new players aside from free agents themselves.
In Belgium, the deadline struck at 29.59 on Monday night.
Why Wetserlo missed out on Rouhi from Juventus

There had been reports that Juventus were on the verge of sending Rouhi out on loan to Belgian side Westerlo, but updates on Tuesday claim that the Bianconeri had attempted to include a conditional obligation to buy in negotiations, while the Belgian side only wanted Rouhi on loan, potentially with an option to buy.
Ultimately, an agreement was not found, and Rouhi remains a Juventus player for the time being.
