Manchester United could miss out on signing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko during the ongoing transfer window, according to The Athletic.
The Red Devils are keen on bolstering their forward options ahead of next season and a new centre-forward is one of the top priorities for the manager.
Sesko is one of the main names on their radar at the moment, but it is claimed that Leipzig may not necessarily sanction his sale in the coming weeks.
The Bundesliga giants need around €100m to balance their books and they are set to receive €70m with the expected departure of Xavi Simons.
Chelsea are in advanced talks to land Simons from the German outfit.
Leipzig could secure some low-profile sales to cover up the remaining amount and may not require to part ways with Sesko this summer.
Sesko could be allowed to leave for around €90m, but it is also unlikely that Man United will pay such a huge fee for the Slovenian star.
