A member of Renato Veiga’s entourage explains why Juventus didn’t sign the Portuguese defender on a permanent deal over the summer and insists the Portuguese has ‘good memories’ of his time in Turin.
Juventus were held to a 2-2 draw away at Villarreal last night, seeing their former defender Veiga score a late equaliser from a corner kick routine.
Gaetano Montalbano, a member of Veiga’s entourage, told TMW why the Portuguese didn’t remain in Turin after a six-month loan spell in the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.
Agent: Why Veiga didn’t join Juventus permanently

“There was something exceptional this year. There was the first transfer window linked to the Club World Cup,” explained the Italian agent.
“Above all, when it came to loans, especially from teams in other countries such as Chelsea, negotiations were neither easy nor immediate.
“The club that owned the player did not know its own future and, at the same time, the club that had the player on loan had to make assessments for a new season starting right away.
“The change in the Juventus management also had an impact. The change at the top and the timing did not allow things to move quickly.”
Renato Veiga has ‘solid and intense’ rapport with Juventus

Veiga’s goal celebration last night appeared to hint that the defender had taken revenge against his former club, but his representative insisted that Veiga still has a great rapport with Juventus and their fans.
“Renato was really happy with the performance. It was not easy to equalise, but he was good at believing and scoring,” he said.

“The rapport between Veiga and Juventus was solid and intense, and he has good memories. Then, of course, everybody has to be professional on the pitch and work with the highest commitment as he did last night. Juventus fans know how committed Veiga is; they saw it last season.”
Veiga had held a press conference on the eve of the game on Tuesday, insisting that he had no hard feelings towards the Bianconeri.
