Wild crowds greet Weah and Thauvin as they leave Serie A in 2025

Timothy Weah was greeted by over 300 Olympique Marseille fans as he arrived to complete his transfer from Juventus, while RC Lens supporters turned out for Udinese’s Florian Thauvin.

While Ardon Jashiri landed in Milan this evening to become a new Serie A star from Club Brugge, another two players are leaving the Italian top flight.

Thauvin and Weah return to France

Weah landed in Marseille tonight and was met at the airport by over 300 celebrating fans.

It is going to be a paid loan from Juventus with obligation to buy for a reported total fee of €19m, plus a 15 per cent cut of the future sale.

The USMNT star is ready to undergo his medical tests on Wednesday and complete the transfer.

He was accompanied by his father, former Milan and Olympique Marseille striker George Weah.

Meanwhile, a crowd also turned up in Lens to greet France international Thauvin, who flew out this evening to make the move from Udinese.

That is believed to be a permanent transfer for €6m plus add-ons, as the Italian sources have the total package at €8m.
