With Patrick Drewes sidelined through illness, Timo Horn stepped in to help VfL Bochum keep a clean sheet in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.

Drewes has since returned to full training, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be back in goal against Wolfsburg this weekend.

Speaking to the WAZ, Bochum coach Dieter Hecking refused to commit to either goalkeeper.

“We will sit down together in peace and make a decision,” said Hecking.

“The fact that [Horn] kept a clean sheet and we won the game speaks in his favor,” he continued.

As for Drewes, Hecking said that “he has rarely been responsible for a goal recently”.

“Every goalkeeper has his own playing style. I don’t think there’s much to criticize about his recent performances.

“Whoever is in goal on Saturday is a good goalkeeper,” said the Bochum boss.
