William Saliba has handed Arsenal a major boost with the French defender pledging his future to the club.

Saliba has been a key part of Mikel Arteta‘s side since forcing his way into the Gunners’ starting line-up during the 2022-23 season.

The 23-year-old, who reached passed 100 appearances for the club, has started 13 Premier League matches this season as Arsenal bid to win the title.

Saliba’s impressive performances for Arsenal have reportedly drawn the attention of Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants have reportedly made the defender one of their key transfer targets.

Saliba, who is contracted until 2027, has insisted his future is with Arsenal as the defender insisted he feels ‘at home’ at the club.

‘Yeah of course, I feel at home,’ Saliba told the Mirror when asked about his future.

‘I signed for the club five years ago but it’s only my third season and I’m enjoying everything – the players, the staff and the fans.

‘I feel at home so of course, why not?’

Saliba has continued to impress for Arsenal this campaign, after being named in the PFA Team of the Year for the last two seasons.

He has helped the Gunners achieve the second best defensive record in the top flight this season with only 14 goals conceded across their 14 matches.

Only Premier League leaders Liverpool have conceded fewer, with Arne Slot’s side having let in 11.

Despite being seven points behind Liverpool, Saliba believes Arsenal can close the gap and claim the title having been runners-up in the past two seasons to Man City.

‘Everything is possible, the season is very long and we’ve experienced that in the past two years,’ Saliba said.

‘We just have to focus on ourselves, we are still only in December so there are still a lot of things that can happen.’

Saliba scored a crucial second goal in midweek to help Arsenal beat Manchester United 2-0 in midweek, a result which cut the gap to Liverpool.

Arsenal will be hoping to close the gap further when they travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham on Sunday.
