Wirtz: “I’m happy about my first goal contributions for Liverpool!”

New Liverpool signing Wirtz spoke after his team’s 5–1 Champions League victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, expressing delight at contributing two assists in a dominant performance.

It was a great third matchday in the Champions League for Liverpool – a 5-1 victory over a struggling Eintracht Frankfurt side.

A player who should be happy about his first goal contributions for his new club is Florian Wirtz – here are his thoughts and comments after the game:

“It was a clear game and result; we did well today. We actually started well, then conceded the first goal, but then turned the game around superbly. We know what quality we have in the team. These are world-class players, the coach prepared us well for the game and everyone knew what to do. Then you get a result like today.”

“In the first half, I struggled to get into good positions and was unfortunate to lose the ball before the goal. Overall, my performance was okay, but I know I can do much better. The second half was better for everyone, including me. Now I’m happy about the win and my first goal contributions for the Reds.”
