Wolfsburg confirm Wind undergoes surgery on injured thigh

The Danish striker will spend an extended period on the sidelines nursing a thigh injury after surgery.

VfL Wolfsburg confirmed this afternoon that striker Jonas Wind underwent surgery in Munich today, 26 November.

The 26-year-old picked up an unfortunate thigh injury during the Lower Saxony club’s 3-1 defeat to Bayern Leverkusen last Saturday. 

Wind was used as a substitute in the 61st-minute to replace Dzenan Pejcinovic and played the remainder of the game. 

Wolfsburg also highlighted that the Dane will be sidelined until further notice and wished him a speedy recovery. 

Even though Wind has yet to score this season, the news comes as a blow for the club sat in fifteenth place just above the relegation zone.
