Wolfsburg officially unveil Koulierakis, Vavro to follow soon
By Peter Weis@PeterVicey
As had been previously agreed upon with previous club PAOK Thessaloniki, VfL Wolfsburg delayed the official transfer and introduction of central defender Konstantinos Koulierakis until deadline day. The 20-year-old was given a formal club roll out on Friday evening.

Germany’s green company team are widely expected to unveil a second signing for their central defensive corps before the day is out. Germany’s preeminent footballing publication reports that this shall be FC Copenhagen defender Denis Vavro.

Though confirmed some time ago, Greek defender Konstantinos Koulierakis’ move to VfL Wolfsburg was officially delayed due to an arrangement between the German Wolves and Koulierakis’ previous club PAOK  Thessaloniki. The Greek outfit retained the services of the 20-year-old until their UEFA Conference League qualifiers were completed. The player was given a formal roll-out on Friday evening.

Germany’s green company team paid a reported €11.75 million to acquire Koulierakis. Germany’s Kicker Magazine reports that another central defender is set to be unveiled at the Volkswagen Arena later tonight. FC Copenhagen’s Denis Vavro will arrive on loan with a purchase option. It is such that the German Wolves shall react to the (confirmed) departure of Moritz Jenz and the (soon-to-be confirmed) loss of Maxence Lacroix.

Vavro has had something of a journeyman career, but is an old acquaintance of current Wolfsburg personnel chief Peter Christiansen. The 24-times-capped Slovakian international currently maintains an estimated market worth of €5 million. Vavro most recently featured prominently for his country in the German-hosted European championships.
