Wolfsburg set to unveil new head coach
By Henrik Petersen

According to Kicker, VfL Wolfsburg are set to appoint Paul Simonis as their new head coach.

After many weeks of searching, VfL Wolfsburg have found their replacement for Ralph Hasenhüttl as head coach.

According to Kicker, Paul Simonis is set to take over the role, with only the club’s official confirmation still pending.

Simonis, 40, led Go Ahead Eagles to an impressive seventh-place finish in the Dutch Eredivisie last season, also guiding them to their first-ever Dutch cup triumph.

Kicker’s report states that Wolfsburg will pay a “manageable transfer fee” to release Simonis from his contract with Go Ahead Eagles.

Simonis became the leading candidate for the Wolfsburg job after FC Copenhagen’s Jacob Neestrup was ruled out of the running.
