Woltemade on Stuttgart’s rejection of Bayern bids: “It wasn’t always easy for me”

The German international revealed that he found it difficult after Stuttgart declined Bayern’s approaches.

In an interview with Abendzeitung, Nick Woltemade revealed he struggled with VfB Stuttgart’s rejection of Bayern Munich’s offers.

The Bavarian giants made several attempts to purchase the 23-year-old striker over summer, but each were met with a similar response.

“It wasn’t always easy for me. That’s why it was very important that everything was normal in the dressing room.

“My teammates and the staff treated me normally and always tried to support me as best as possible,” he explained.

Make no mistake about it, Woltemade pictured himself donning the famous Bayern red until a lucrative offer from Newcastle United arrived.

“It’s no secret that I could have very well imagined a move to FC Bayern – for the same sporting reasons that now spoke in favour of Newcastle.

“I wanted to take the next step as a player – the Premier League is the best league. Newcastle showed me a clear plan and a very convincing perspective.

“The club also has a family feeling. In the end, it quickly became clear to me that I was very happy to accept this challenge,” he concluded.
